Review: Refresh by Emily MacLeod
One of the luxuries about traveling is that I get to hear a lot of different music that I may never have heard just by being at home. Refresh by Emily MacLeod is one of those albums.
From what I know, Emily is quite possibly still a teenager and recorded this album as a response to provide healing music to her mother who had cancer. Her mum received healing and there have been numerous reports that people who have listened to this album have also received some pretty miraculous healings as well. I always love those kinds of responses to worship and thought I should download the album myself…..and be aware of any changes in the atmosphere in my home and car.
Refresh is a piano/instrumental album that immediately brings rest as the notes play. It’s so relaxing to listen to. In fact, my toddler and 9 year old have it playing nonstop in their rooms. It’s truly remarkable how peaceful the house has become whilst playing this album!
The thing that makes this music so beautiful is its simplicity. No bells and whistles here. It’s a simple conversation you can understand with no hidden agendas. It has innocence all over it.
Trying to find any more information on Emily has proved quite difficult. This is what I do know: her dad, a well-known songwriter, producer, and now pastor, Scott MacLeod produced the project for her and wrote/co wrote some of the tracks. They also run a publishing and music label called harvestsound.com of which Emily is a part of.
You can download Emily’s album on iTunes.
